Tonight I was treated to the lowest tide I’d experienced at Landguard point, allowing me to see far more of the old war time structures.

Seckford Hall
I was fortunate enough to be approached by the designer involved with the renovation of Seckford Hall, Woodbridge. looking for some imagery for the walls of the 1530 Restaurant. Today I thought I’d drop in and see how the renovations were going, and of course to get a peek at my images hanging in the main dining room. I wasn’t disapointed, the pictures look great and hotel is coming on fabulously. I can highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Colour on the heath
These images were taken on my first ever visit to Dunwich Heath, a location suggested to my by one of my facebook page fans.
It looks like a place I will visit again for sure, especially as the weather cools, and the mist and frost starts to make an appearance. It was an especially nice surprise to spot a mother deer and her young as we headed back to the car.
Strange little things
I am becoming fascinated by the miniture world at the moment, and the fantastic detail not normally visible to the human eye.
Both these little creatures are no more than 6mm in length.
Butterflies
I only recently discovered that there is a butterfly farm just up the road from me at Jimmy’s Farm!
So with my new macro lens and the 70-200mm, I set off reasonably early to try to avoid the hottest part of the day, although the heat and humidity in the butterfly house was only just bearable with 20 minute stints 🙂
Anyway, had a great time and I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Well worth it.
OK, so not technically a butterfly, (well not at all really :), but I saw him on the way out and he seemed to want his picture taken 🙂
More Creepy Crawlies
Trying something new
I finally decided that I wouldn’t mind having a go at some serious macro photography; so with my new Canon 65mm f/2.8 MP-E 1-5x Macro lens and Canon MT-24EX Twin macro flash, I set off into the back garden to see what I could find.
I am reasonably happy with my first efforts, although I know I still have lots to learn about photographing the miniture world.
Once I’ve used it for a while, I’ll provide wome insight into the use of this incredible lens, until then, I hope you enjoy my initial efforts?
